Who We Are

Gorman Convention Group, Inc. represents a team of individuals who are true professionals with decades of experience.  We invite your organization to challenge us to provide exactly the products and services that you are seeking.  We are not "new" to the industry or trying out alternative professions, we will still be around for many years.
About Wendy Gorman

Wendy Gorman is President of Gorman Convention Group, Inc.  With more than 35 years of experience managing meetings, tradeshows and special events, Wendy is a recognized expert in the industry.

In 1992, Wendy founded Gorman Convention Group, Inc. a nationwide tradeshow, meetings and convention management and consulting firm that specializes in on-site event management.  She has provided Show Management services for the National Head Start Association and the Professional Jewelers Show.  She served as the Director of Broadcast Media Operations for the International Consumer Electronics Show for 19 years and has served as meetings consultant to the Athletic Business Winter Convention and BIO (Biotechnology Innovation Organization).  In addition, Wendy has provided management services to many of the nation’s largest tradeshows and events, including the American College of Cardiology, the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, the American Heart Association, MACWORLD, the National Association of Convenience Stores, International Builders Show, PLASTICS and numerous others.

Prior to forming Gorman Convention Group, Inc., Wendy was Vice President of Nationwide Convention Systems, Inc. (The Expo Group, Inc.) While in this capacity, she managed the overall production of various tradeshows and meetings, including the coordination of sleeping rooms, travel logistics, food and beverage coordination, security and registration.

Wendy spent five years working with the Dallas Market Center in Texas.  While with the DMC, she participated in the design of and oversaw construction of the 1.5 million square foot INFOMART and developed the Event Management team for the new facility. Wendy also served as Director of Planning and Development for Together, Inc.  In this capacity, she coordinated more than 150 conferences, seminars and other meetings.  Her responsibilities included negotiating contracts with hotels and suppliers and complete on-site event management.

Wendy has been an active member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and has served as Vice Chairman of the Florida Chapter.

Wendy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas, Dallas.

About Thomas Mazziotta

Thomas is the Director of Operations at Gorman Convention Group, Inc.  With more than 35 years of experience managing meetings, tradeshows and special events, just about everyone in the Orlando tradeshow and convention business has had the joy of working with Tom.  Bringing an amazing work ethic with him from New York, where he held numerous positions with the Carpenters’ Union, Tom has worked with GES, Freeman, Shepherd, and United Expositions, on the majority of business that has flowed through the Orange County Convention Center.
 
Tom can look at a booth design and determine if it is safe, in compliance and the best use of space, and if it isn’t, he can make suggestions that are in the best interest of everyone, and will make the fire marshal happy.  If an electrician or plumber is needed, Tom knows where to find them and is able to explain what the issue is because he KNOWS exhibit design specifics.
 
In everything that he does, Tom believes that providing “ADDED VALUE” to our clients should be the rule, not the exception.
